Fellowship Awardees

The Sarita and Claire Wright Lucas Foundation Summer Fellowship Program provides African American female law students with a paid summer internship opportunity in the Massachusetts Suffolk and Middlesex District Attorney’s offices

Each Fellow receives a $7,000 stipend for the 10-week summer program. This Program aims to ensure that young female African American law students from all backgrounds are able to gain meaningful experience in public interest law.

Josianne Hamilton

JOSIANNE HAMILTON

2L Law Student
Boston University School of Law

Josianne Hamilton is currently a 2L Law Student at the Boston University School of Law. She previously received her B.A. in Political Science and Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies from the University of Connecticut. Josianne has extensive law experience, including work with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, a Research Assistant to Dean Onwuachi-Willig, the Legislative Drafting Clinic, and the Capitol Consulting Firm. She has been offered a position to work with the Middlesex DA’s office again in the summer of 2024.

Josianne has been an active contributor to the BU Law community, serving as the President of the Women’s Law Association, an editor for the Public Interest Law Journal, and an Antiracist Scholars for Progress, Innovation, and Racial Equity (ASPIRE) Scholar. In addition, she received a Presidential Scholarship from the University of Connecticut, as well as attaining the Dean’s List for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Alexandra Ehoule

AKA MAGNIN ALEXANDRA EHOULE

Georgia State University Law School

Alexandra Ehoule is currently a 2L Law Student at the Georgia State University School of Law. She received her Masters and Bachelors in Political Science from Georgia State as well. Since beginning law school, Alexandra has worked as a Contract Analyst/1L summer intern with Accenture, LLP and is currently a Legal Extern with the Criminal Justice Division of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Georgia. She will continue this externship while she works with the DeKalb County Attorney’s Office this summer.

Alexandra is an active participant in the Georgia State law community. She is a member of the Mock Trial Team, the Rising President of the Disabled Law Student Association, and the Secretary of the Christian Legal Society. She also volunteers with the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, in which she was honored with the “Best Volunteer” award in 2022. For her hard work and achievements, Alexandra has received various scholarships and was on the President’s List at her university in 2020
